A man who failed to appear in court to pay his fines is now being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on cash bond.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old John W. Copple, Jr. of Braymer failed to pay his fines on the following convictions: operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license (owed $94); operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner (owed $44); driving while intoxicated and littering (owed $538). He is being held on cash bonds totaling $800 and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 28.
