Five Are Arrested Here

Five persons have been arrested recently and are facing charges here.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Casey S. Welch, 18, Galt, has been charged with possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia (a pipe), both class A misdemeanors. Bond on those charges has been set at $3,500 cash-only. In addition, he is charged with a class C felony, receiving stolen property, accused of receiving a 22-caliber handgun, knowing or believing it had been stolen. Bond on the felony charge is $10,000 cash or corporate surety. Welch is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 28.
Two persons have been charged in connection with a burglary at Galt.
Nickolas Pipes, 19, Laredo, and Dakota W. Dalton, 19, Humphreys, have both been charged in connection with a burglary at 108 N. Main St., owned by Karen Willis. Pipes is charged with first degree burglary and is accused of unlawfully entering the building between Dec. 7, 2013 and Jan. 14, and was armed with a deadly weapon. His bond is $25,000 cash-only. Dalton is accused of unlawfully entering the building between Jan. 11 and Jan. 12 and is facing a charge of second degree burglary. His bond is $20,000 cash-only. Both are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 28.
Also arrested was Kimberly Caldwell, 52, Trenton, who is charged with a class C felony of passing bad checks. She is accused of writing a $411 check to Twila Endecott on March 21, 2013 on a non-existent account at U.S. Bank. She has posted $1,400 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 28.
Alicia M. Grimes, 45, Trenton, was arrested for failing to appear in court for a pre-trial conference on a charge of second degree domestic assault. She is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond.
