One Arrested For Checks, Another For Parole Violation

A Princeton man has posted cash bond after being arrested for writing checks on a non-existent account, while a Trenton man has been arrested on a parole violation.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, David E. Contrerez, 42, was arrested Sept. 2 and is charged with passing bad checks, a class C felony. He is accused of writing a check for $123.50 to TNT Convenience Store on March 4. The check was written on a non-existent account at BTC Bank. His bond was $700 cash-only and he is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 24.
Also arrested was James Harding, 26, Trenton, who was arrested Saturday for violating the terms of his parole on an original charge of second degree burglary. There is no bond and he will be returned to the Department of Corrections.
