According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year-old Robert Blozvich is charged with second degree assault: driving while intoxicated, a class C felony. He is accused of operating the ATV on Aug. 11, 2012 under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. The warrant states that he acted with criminal negligence in that he was attempting to climb a steep embankment when the ATV flipped over, ejecting himself and a passenger, Dorothy Sue Thrasher. Ms. Thrasher had to be airlifted from the scene and sustained a spinal cord injury, causing partial paralysis.
Blozvich has posted $10,000 cash or corporate surety bond and is scheduled to make a court appearance on June 25.
