A Trenton man has posted bond after being arrested for writing checks on a non-existent account.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Howard L. Harper, 32, was arrested Wednesday and charged with a class C felony of passing bad checks. He is accused of writing a check to Amoco on June 27 for $93.58 on a non-existent account at Citizens Bank and Trust. He has posted $3,500 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 11.
