A Trenton man is facing an additional charge and alternative charges in connection with an incident for which he had already been charged.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Lynn D. Shipley, 48, Trenton, was charged with first degree child molestation, a charge that had already been filed against him in connection with an incident in which he allegedly submitted a child to sexual contact in the shower. The Grundy County Prosecutor’s Office has also filed an alternative count, endangering the welfare of a child, and another alternative count, sexual misconduct by indecent exposure. The prosecutor has also filed an additional count, incest. All of the incidents occurred at the same time between Jan. 1 through March 12.
Shipley, who was scheduled to appear in court today, is being held on $60,000 cash-only bond.
