Inmate Faces Additional Charges

An inmate in the Grundy County Detention Center is facing additional charges of identity theft and forgery.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Schalina N. Mabe, 30, Trenton, is facing one count of identity theft and seven counts of forgery. She is accused of using a driver’s license owned by Ellen Stevenson to appropriate goods from Hy-Vee, Hong Kong Takeout, Finders Keepers and Brown’s Shoe Fit. She is also accused of writing checks on an account owned by Ms. Stevenson, making them look as though Ms. Stevenson had signed them. The incidents allegedly occurred in December 2011. Her bond has been set at $25,000 cash-only on this charge.
She also faces a charge of stealing, with bond set at $1,500 cash or corporate surety. Her court date is Feb. 28.
Also arrested was Joseph Vivone, a 23-year-old resident of Galt, who was arrested on a Sullivan County warrant charging him with driving a motor vehicle on the highway while his license was revoked or suspended. No bond was set.
Russell D. Ellis, a 28-year-old Trenton resident, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation on an original charge of failing to register as a sex offender. His bond was set at $15,000 cash or corporate surety and he is scheduled to appear in court March 15.
