A Leisure Lake man has been arrested in connection with an incident over the weekend.
Man Charged In Assault Case
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Eddie Ellis, a 49-year-old rural Trenton resident, has been charged with third degree assault with physical injury, first degree trespassing and resisting arrest. According to the warrants issued for his arrest, he allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in a structure owned by Rick J. Lee at 71205 Catalina Dr., and recklessly caused physical injury to Lee. He also used physical force against Grundy County Deputy Clint Griswold and Missouri State Trooper Curtis Acree in an attempt to avoid being arrested.
Ellis has posted $6,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 13.
Also given a May 13 court appearance was 40-year-old Duane L. Jeffers of Trenton, who was arrested for failing to pay $266.50 owed on a conviction for third degree assault. He has posted $350 cash bond.
