Bethany Man Faces Check Charge

A Bethany man is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center following his arrest for writing checks on a non-existent account.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Lawrence Ratcliff is charged with passing bad checks in connection with an incident on June 2, 2007 when he allegedly wrote a $251.57 check to Quick Cash on a non-existent account at Citizens Bank and Trust. Ratcliff is being held $600 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 22.
