Man Held For Passing 15 Bad Checks

A Trenton man who is accused of writing 15 bad checks is being held in the Grundy County Jail.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Robert Tolle is accused of writing the following checks in 2007, knowing they would not be paid: on April 18 to Amoco for $22.50; on April 22 to Amoco for $35.50; on April 28 to Amoco for $47.15; on May 21 to Main Stop for $31; on May 22 to Main Stop for $54.75; on May 24 to Hy-Vee for $21.34; on May 28 to Main Stop for $54.76; on May 27 to Main Stop for $60; on May 27 to Hy-Vee for $21.56; on May 28 to Main Stop for $28; on June 18 to Pamida for $33.96; on May 12 to People’s Co-op for $40; on June 20 to Pamida for $47.24; on June 22 to Engleman’s MFA for $38.25; and on June 25 to Engleman’s MFA for $36.25.
Tolle is being held on $3,000 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 25.
