Two Arrested For Forgery, Assault

Two area men have been arrested and are facing charges in connection with unrelated incidents, including an incident of forgery.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Chris Hendee of Unionville was arrested by the Trenton Police Department and a Grundy County warrant was obtained. He is charged with two counts of forgery: uttering as genuine and is accused of writing two checks on an account at Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, making them appear to have been written by Todd Peterson. One check was written Oct. 22 for $167.86 to Total Entertainment, while the other check was written Oct. 16 for $583.54 to MTO.
He is being held in jail in lieu of $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 27.
Also arrested was 30-year-old Stephen Elliott of Trenton, who is charged with a misdemeanor count of third degree assault. He is accused of striking Willie Tunnell on the head with a beer bottle. He has posted $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 27.
