Two Arrested On Check Charges

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two persons on charges of passing bad checks.

According to the sheriff’s department, 51-year-old Sherrill F. Stotts of Chillicothe is charged with passing bad checks: no account for writing the following checks on a non-existent account at Citizens Bank and Trust: on March 20, to Pamida for $61.73; on March 20, to Save-A-Lot for $145.27; on March 20 for $255.32 to Pamida; on March 23 for $58.83 to Pamida; on March 23 for $173.71 to Pamida; and on March 23 for $127.88 to Pamida.
Bond was set at $10,000 and she appeared in court today, where her case was bound over to Division I. She remains in jail and will appear in court again on Thursday.
Also arrested was Terry D. Clevenger, a 30-year-old resident of Wheeling, who is charged with passing bad checks in connection with a check written on Aug. 22 to Pamida for $1,841.32. He was released on an O.R. bond and appeared in court today, where his case was bound over to Division I. He will appear in court again on Thursday.
