According to Trenton Police Officer Seth Rorebeck’s report, the mishap occurred when a car driven by Jeffrey Allen Saul of 314 W. 13th St., was westbound on Ninth Street. As Saul started through the curve in the roadway at the intersection of Ninth and Monroe streets, the front end of his vehicle started sliding to the right, off the roadway. He applied the brakes and continued to travel, striking a utility pole.
Saul did not sustain injuries in the accident, but there was extensive damage to the vehicle and minor damage to the utility pole. No tickets were issued.
The driver of a tractor-trailer rig was involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon on Highway 6.
According to Officer Larry Smith’s report, the mishap occurred when the rig, driven by Wreneta M. Morris of Greenbriar, AR, was eastbound on Highway 6 traveling into town when she stopped at the intersection of Ninth and Main streets for a red light. Once the light turned green, Ms. Morris said she made a right turn onto Ninth Street, striking a concrete barrier holding a “Missouri Highway 6” sign. She thought she had only struck the curb, but later found that the two rear outside tires on the passenger side were damaged, as were the rims of both tires. There was only minor damage in the mishap.
No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
