Several persons were arrested over the holiday weekend, including a Galt man who is facing drug charges.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd L. Jarrett, 44, is charged with a class D felony of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, and a class E felony of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is accused of possessing methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and two glass pipes on Jan. 2. He is a prior and persistent offender, making him eligible for an extended prison term, if convicted. Jarrett’s bond has been set at $7,500 cash only and he is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12. He remains in custody in the Grundy County Detention Center.
A 31-year-old Galt woman, Ashley R. Tharp, is being held in the GCDC on $10,000 cash-only bond, charged with a class D felony of stealing: $750 or more. She is accused of appropriating $6,178.92 from Casey’s General Store on Nov. 8. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12.
Stephanie Myrick, a 40-year-old Trenton woman, has posted $150 cash-only bond after being arrested for failing to appear in court on a class B misdemeanor charge of failing to register a motor vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 12.
Also scheduled for a Jan. 12 court appearance is Earl D. Ireland, 31, Trenton. He was arrested after failing to appear in court on two charges of not wearing a seat belt and a class D misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on cash-only bonds totaling $540.
Scheduled for a Jan. 14 court date is James I. Lewellen, a 59-year-old Trenton resident. He was arrested for violating the terms of his probation on original charges of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, a class D felony, and resisting arrest, a class E felony. His bond was set at $10,000, with 10 percent cash approved. He remains in custody.
