A Trenton man who was supposed to be supervising four children has been arrested after he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, James Anderson, 40, is charged with class D felonies of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child. A probable cause statement indicates that Anderson was babysitting four children on Lord Street and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Officers found methamphetamine in his pocket. Anderson is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $20,000 cash-only bond, with an Oct. 9 court appearance scheduled.
