Woman Faces Several Charges; Man Posts Bond In Assault Case

A Trenton woman is facing numerous charges after being arrested by the Trenton Police Department, while a Blythedale man has been released on bond after being arrested for assault.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Kathy J. Stratton, 57, was arrested after an incident at Hardee’s in Trenton, where she allegedly unreasonably caused alarm to others, remained on the property after being told to leave and tensed her arms and refused to comply with the commands of Trenton Police Officer Jesse Wills. In addition, she was found to be operating a motor vehicle while she did not have a valid license.  The incidents occurred on Sept. 23 and led to her being charged with peace disturbance, a class B misdemeanor; first degree trespassing, a class B misdemeanor; resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license, also a class A misdemeanor. Ms. Stratton is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $4,000 cash-only bond, with an Oct. 9 court appearance scheduled.
A Blythedale man, 40-year-old Ryan R. Kampman is charged with third degree assault, a class E felony. He is accused of knowingly causing physical injury to Richard Reynolds by grabbing him by the throat to “choke him out.” He has posted $5,000 cash-only bond and is also scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 9.
