Mar 19, 2018 | Accidents, Law Enforcement

One driver was ticketed in an accident investigated March 12 by the Trenton Police Department.
According to Det. Jerry Smith’s accident report, the mishap occurred when a car driven by James S. Ewing of Trenton and a sport utility vehicle driven by JoEtta Hughs, also of Trenton, were northbound on Main Street. Ms. Hughs stopped for a red light at the intersection with Ninth Street and her vehicle was struck from behind by Ewing’s car. Ewing said his foot slipped on the clutch, causing the vehicle to strike the SUV. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and Ewing was ticketed for following another vehicle too closely and failing to maintain financial responsibility for a vehicle.
Officer Matt Preston investigated an accident involving a parked car on March 14. According to his report, Jacob W. Anderson of Spickard had parked his car in the driveway at 604 Monroe Street. The vehicle began rolling backward and when Anderson applied the brakes, they failed. The truck rolled into a parked car owned by Wyatt B. Fields of Humphreys, causing damage to the driver’s side, including a broken rear window. No tickets were issued in the accident.
