Spickard Man Charged In Burglaries

A Spickard man is facing several felonies and is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $30,000 cash-only bond after being arrested in connection with burglaries in Spickard in 2017.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Trace A. Harvey is charged with five class D felonies of second degree burglary and one class D felony of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle. Harvey is accused of entering the Wise-Slater Funeral Home at Spickard between June 1 and June 26 for the purpose of stealing and for entering property owned by the Spickard R-2 School at 315 Commercial St. sometime between June 11 and July 20, also for the purpose of stealing. Harvey is accused of entering property at 522 W. Seventh St., in Spickard between Jan. 26 and Feb. 26 for the purpose of committing property damage twice and for spray painting a vehicle and breaking a window. He is accused of entering property at 506 N. 8th St., in Spickard between Feb. 26 and March 9 for the purpose of committing property damage.
Harvey is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 9.
