Four Held In County Jail

Four men have been arrested and are being held in the Grundy County Jail, including one charged with child molestation and one charged with violating a protection order.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Colby Weaver of Trenton is charged with first degree child molestation, a class B felony. He is accused of subjecting a child less than 14 years old to sexual contact on Oct. 31, 2016. Weaver is being held on $75,000 cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 26.
Also arrested was Cory J. Burchett, 32, who is being held on $7,500 cash-only bond after allegedly violating a protection order and second degree harassment, both class A misdemeanors. Burchett is accused of violating the order by contacting a subject by text and Facebook Messenger when a court order was in place prohibiting the contact. He is also accused of threatening that subject. Burchett is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Also arrested was 38-year-old Jonathan K. Hanson, who was returned to Grundy County from Ketchikan, AK, by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office. Hanson was wanted for violating the terms of his probation on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana. His bond has been set at $15,000 cash-only and he is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 12.
Also scheduled to appear in court Oct. 12 is Jason E. Almond, 39, St. Joseph, who was arrested for violating the terms of his probation on an original charge of conspiracy to commit the offense of stealing. His bond has been set at $15,000 cash-only.
