Two Men Arrested Over Weekend

Two Trenton men were arrested over the weekend, one charged with possessing drugs and the other being held for violating a protection order.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reported that Samuel D. Lawson, 17, is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond after being arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana, a class C felony. He is accused of possessing methamphetamine on Oct. 9. Lawson is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 25.
Also arrested was David D. Cooley, 48, who is charged with violating a protection order for an adult, a class A misdemeanor. Cooley is accused of calling a subject several times after having been served an order prohibiting him from having contact with that subject. Cooley has posted $2,500 cash or corporate surety bond and was scheduled to appear in court today.
