Two Arrested – One For Checks, One For Stealing

Two area residents are being held in the Grundy County Detention Center after being arrested on unrelated charges.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Cheyenne S. Sharp, 18, Trenton, was arrested for passing bad checks, a class A misdemeanor. She is accused of writing a $41.20 check to Amoco on Jan. 10, knowing it would not be paid. She is being held on $450 cash bond.
Also arrested was Steven Munson, Jr., 40, Chillicothe, who is charged with stealing by deceit. He is accused of taking U.S. currency from Kenneth and Laura Ewing with the understanding that he would purchase materials needed to repair a roof and the work was never done. He is being held on $5,000 cash-only bond.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court May 24.
