Charges of possession of a controlled substance have been filed against a Trenton man who was already in custody on a probation violation and a woman who is being returned from Cass County.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Mitchell D. Knapp, 25, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, in connection with his alleged possession of methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance, on May 11. Bond was set at $15,000 cash-only and he is scheduled to appear in court May 26. He remains in the Grundy County Detention Center.
Also facing the same charge is Ann Marie Garoutte, 37, a former Trenton resident. She is accused of possessing methamphetamine on Dec. 8, 2014. She is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond and is also scheduled to appear in court May 26.
