No injuries were reported in an accident investigated Saturday evening at the intersection of Eighth and Main streets.
According to Officer Larry Smith’s report, the accident occurred when a truck driven by Jack Gathercole of Trenton was northbound on Main Street and struck a van driven by Amber L. Glidewell of Trenton, from behind. The Glidewell vehicle had been stopped in traffic. Gathercole’s truck sustained only minor damage, with the Glidewell van having extensive damage. The Grundy County Ambulance Service was called to scene due to young children being involved in the mishap, however, no injuries were reported and no one was transported.
Gathercole, 20, was ticketed for careless and imprudent driving by striking a vehicle stopped in traffic.
