Trenton Man Charged In Accident; Another Charged With Endangerment

A Trenton man has been charged in connection with an accident Monday night west of Trenton.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Samuel G. Adams, 27, has been charged with second degree assault, a class C felony. He is accused of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and acted with criminal negligence in that he failed to stop for a stop sign and caused physical injury to Imani White by striking her vehicle and causing her to be injured.
Adams has posted $15,000 cash or corporate surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 14.
Also arrested Tuesday was Gary L. Riddle, 42, also of Trenton, who is charged with second degree endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He is accused of recklessly failing and refusing to exercise reasonable diligence in the care and control of three children. He is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $2,500 cash or corporate surety bond. He is also scheduled to appear in court Oct. 14.
