Utility Poles Damaged In Mishap

Jun 25, 2014 | Accidents, Law Enforcement

Utility poles owned by AT&T and Suddenlink were damaged in an accident investigated by the Trenton Police Department Tuesday morning.
According to Officer Keith Edmonston’s report, the mishap occurred when a Missouri Department of Conservation day cab tractor pulling a flatbed trailer with a John Deere motor grader was traveling down West 10th Street to Cedar Street. A hydraulic arm caught a telephone line, with the driver of the vehicle, Michael Brixey of Lowry City, being unaware of it. The motion of the truck caused two wooden utility poles to snap. The telephone line also separated from itself. A steel tension support cable anchored east of the poles was also separated. Crews from AT&T and Suddenlink were called in to make repairs. There was no damage to the truck or trailer and no tickets were issued in the incident.
