Residents of Trenton and Princeton were injured in two separate accidents investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Tuesday.
The first accident occurred at 8:10 a.m. in Livingston County, two miles west of Chillicothe on Highway 36. The patrol said an SUV driven by Cory Albers, 24, of Trenton was eastbound on Highway 36 and went out of control on the wet roadway. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a bridge rail before traveling back into the eastbound lane. The SUV was then struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer unit driven by Bryan Karr of Barnard. Both vehicles came to rest facing eastbound, partially off the right side of the road.
Albers and a passenger in his vehicle, Glinda Leffler, 21, of Trenton, received minor injuries and were taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment. Karr was not reported hurt.
The SUV was demolished. The tractor-trailer unit received moderate damage.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. Adam McAtee, assisted by Capt. J.E. McDonald, Cpl. R.A. Sherman, Trooper J.C. Acree, Trooper Q.R. McConkey, Trooper D.A. Landi, CVO S.R. Dye and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
The second accident occurred at 3:37 p.m. on Highway 136, just west of Highway 65 in Princeton. A car driven by Shirley Ramspeck of Princeton and a car driven by Bryar Hagan of Princeton were both eastbound on Highway 136. The Ramspeck vehicle came to a stop and was waiting to turn into a private driveway when it was struck from behind by the Hagan vehicle.
Mrs. Ramspeck, 56, received minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to the Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany for treatment. Hagan, 18, was not reported hurt.
Both vehicles had minor damage.
The accident was investigated by Trooper McConkey, assisted by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
