The Trenton Police Department was called to investigate two accidents recently, including a hit-and-run investigated Monday by Officer Jeb Walker.
According to Officer Walker’s report, a vehicle driven by Gregory A. Johnson of 2014 Chestnut St., was northbound on Oklahoma Avenue preparing to turn right into a business lot when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle which then left the scene. Johnson described the vehicle as possibly being a red Dodge Dart with a young male driver. There was minor damage to Johnson’s vehicle.
Det. Jerry Smith investigated a mishap Monday just off the southbound Highway 65 exit ramp, where a car driven by Kelsey R. Jincks of Princeton was struck by a truck driven by Larry D. Bailey of 455 N.W. Fifth St. Ms. Jincks had come to the end of the off-ramp and was waiting for traffic to clear so she could make a right turn. She pulled forward and then had to stop again for traffic. Bailey did not notice she had stopped again and pulled forward, striking Ms. Jincks’ car in the left rear and causing moderate damage to it. There was only minor damage to the front of Bailey’s truck.
No injuries were reported in either accident and no tickets were issued.
