A Trenton man was treated for injuries he received in an early-morning accident today on Interstate 35, north of Cameron.
Lee Smith, 68, was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital of Trenton for treatment of minor injuries, then released. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Smith was the driver of a northbound truck that was struck from behind by a semi-trailer truck driven by 34-year-old Tanner Chester of West Des Moines, IA. The patrol said Chester had fallen asleep as he was driving, striking Smith’s truck from behind. Both vehicles came to rest on the shoulder. The Smith vehicle had moderate damage while the Chester semi-trailer was extensively damaged.
