One vehicle was struck from behind in an accident investigated Monday at the intersection of Ninth and Main streets.

According to Trenton Police Det. Jerry Smith’s accident report, the mishap occurred when a car driven by Marie N. McMahan of Chillicothe was westbound on Ninth Street when she was distracted by a pedestrian and did not see that a truck driven by Jordan M. Hall, also of Chillicothe, had stopped in traffic for a red light. Ms. McMahan’s car struck Hall’s truck from behind, causing moderate damage to the truck and minor damage to the car.
Ms. McMahan, 19, was ticketed for following another vehicle too closely.
