Trenton Woman Issued Two Tickets Following Incident
According to Officer Josh Gott’s report, a vehicle driven by Yana Mukh, 39, 103 Maupin St., was stuck in a ditch off Harris Avenue near the railroad tracks between Hoffman and Reed and the former Trenton Coke plant. Just prior to being called to the accident, witnesses had observed the vehicle traveling westbound on Ninth Street on the wrong side of the road. During the investigation, officers noted a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. She was issued a ticket for operating a vehicle for which financial responsibility was not maintained.
Just prior to this accident, police were investigating a hit and run accident in the parking lot of Washington Street Food and Drink in which the vehicle leaving the scene matched the description of the vehicle which was stuck. The driver stated she had been at Washington Street but did not remember striking a vehicle. She was issued a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident and is to appear in court on Feb. 28 on both charges.
Det. Jerry Smith investigated an accident on Saturday morning in which a tractor-trailer unit leaving the diesel fuel pumps at TNT Convenience Store on 28th Street struck the concrete barrier. The truck driver, Charles Dickerson of Braymer, did not know he had struck the barrier which caused moderate damage to the barrier, and fuel pump as well as the right rear wheels of the truck. No tickets were issued.
Officer Randy Burks investigated an accident last Wednesday in which a tractor-trailer unit damaged the 17th Street bridge. Mark Dohrman of Sealy, TX, was the driver of the vehicle, which was attempting to turn right from Lulu Street onto the bridge. His unit struck and damaged a large portion of the bridge railing. There were no injuries and no tickets were issued.
