A resident of Spickard was injured in a one-vehicle accident late Thursday night on Route Y in northern Grundy County.

David A. Ferguson, 28, was southbound on Route Y when he served his vehicle to avoid striking a deer. The vehicle went off the roadway, down and embankment and into a ditch.
Ferguson received minor injuries. His vehicle received extensive damage.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. A.G. McAtee, assisted by Sgt. S.P. Skoglund and Trooper J.C. Acree.
