Officer Josh Gott investigated an accident Nov. 27 on 17th Street. The mishap occurred when a van driven by Duane Harding of 1005 W. Crowder Rd., was eastbound on 17th Street, turning northbound onto Pleasant Plain. He said when he made the turn, he reached down to pick up keys that had fallen. His vehicle then struck the back of a parked car owned by David and Teresa Scrivens of Turney. There was moderate damage to both vehicles and Harding, 49, was ticketed for having no financial responsibility for the vehicle.
The other mishap, investigated by Officer Randy Burks, occurred at the intersection of Oklahoma Avenue and the Trenton Middle School driveway on Friday. According to the report, a sport utility vehicle driven by James R. Norris of Trenton was exiting the parking lot at TMS and started to make a left turn from the lot onto Oklahoma Avenue. His vehicle struck a car driven by Denise L. Thomas of 405 Kitty St., which was northbound on Oklahoma Avenue, starting to make a left turn into the lot. Norris’ vehicle struck the car on the driver’s side front quarter panel, causing extensive damage, and there was also undercarriage damage to the car. There was minor damage to Norris’ vehicle.
Norris, 40, was ticketed for failing to yield at an alley or driveway.
