Charles Mang of Trenton received minor injuries when his vehicle struck a deer while traveling eastbound on Highway 6, two miles west of Trenton on Wednesday night. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels. Mang, 65, was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment of his injuries, then was released. The car was demolished.
Emily Schmidt of Laredo was the driver of an SUV that struck a van after it had gone out of control on a snow-covered Highway 136, four miles west of Albany on Wednesday morning. Ms. Schmidt, whose vehicle was westbound, was not reported hurt. The driver of the van, Sarah Williams of Stanberry, and four other passengers were taken to the Northwest Medical Center by private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries.
The patrol said the Williams vehicle was westbound and went out of control, traveling across the eastbound lane and striking a guardrail. When the vehicle re-entered the road, it was struck by the Schmidt vehicle, which was also westbound. Both vehicles came to rest on the south side of the road and both received moderate damage.
The third accident, which occurred early Wednesday morning, involved one vehicle, driven by Jack Prescott of Jamesport. The patrol said Prescott, 53, was driving eastbound on Highway 136, 12 miles east of Princeton, when the vehicle went out of control and traveled off the right side of the road, striking a box culvert. He received moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Wright Memorial Hospital. The vehicle was demolished.
