A man who had been arrested on a warrant from Florida has now been charged in Grundy County with unlawful use of a weapon.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Byrnes, a 33-year-old resident of 201 E. Ninth Ct., was arrested when the Trenton Police Department went to his residence on Monday to arrest him on the Florida warrant. Byrnes, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun. After his arrest, Florida authorities declined to extradite him on their charges, but he is being held on $10,000 cash bond on the Grundy County charge and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 23.
