Bank Robbed At Brookfield

A man got away with an undisclosed amount of money during a bank robbery at Brookfield on Wednesday.

According to the Brookfield Police Department, the man walked into the Preferred Bank at the south edge of Brookfield, displayed a weapon and demanded cash from the teller line. The employees complied and he left the building in a 1994 Chevrolet half-ton pickup, traveling southbound on Highway 11. The truck was recovered a short distance away on a gravel road.
The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s with a medium build and 5-10 to 6-0 tall.
The Brookfield Police are being assisted by the FBI, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Linn County Sheriff’s Department and area surrounding law enforcement agencies. Anyone with information is asked to contact local law enforcement.
