A Spickard man has been arrested for driving while intoxicated and is being held as a persistent offender.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Richard Johnson allegedly drove a vehicle May 30 on Route B near the intersection of Highway 65 while intoxicated. He is being charged as a persistent offender, a class B felony, because he has three prior convictions for DWI.
Johnson is being held in the Grundy County Detention Center on $25,000 cash or corporate surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 14.
