According to Trenton Police Lt. Rex Ross’ report, the accident occurred when a car driven by Roger L. Murphy of 1109 Merrill St., backed from a parking space at the Grundy County Health Department onto Lincoln Street. The vehicle struck a parked car owned by Daniel Hamilton and Jacqueline Boyle of 1705 Tindall Ave., which was parked southbound in the 1700 block of Lincoln Street. Murphy left the scene, but was later located. He said he realized he had struck the car, but did not believe there was damage, so he left the scene. He also said he was in need of medication, which also led to him leaving the scene. There was minor damage to the parked car and little to no damage to Murphy’s vehicle.
Murphy, 40, was ticketed for improper backing.
