The Missouri Highway Patrol said a van driven by Thomas Martin, 27, of New Hampton was eastbound on 136 and made a left turn into the path of a westbound truck, driven by William Gannan, 61, of Gilman City. The impact caused the Gannan truck to travel off the north side of the road, overturning one time. The Martin vehicle came to rest on the north side of the road, facing south.
Gannan and a passenger in the Martin vehicle, Andy Burress, 36, of Trenton, were both taken to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany for treatment of minor injuries. Martin was not reported hurt.
The van received moderate damage and the truck was demolished. The accident was investigated by Trooper B.R. Hilliard, assisted by Trooper T.B. Heintz, the Bethany Police Department, the NTA Ambulance Service and the Missouri Conservation Department.
