Spickard Man In Accident

A Bethany man was injured and faces charges following an accident Tuesday morning near Altamont involving a vehicle driven by a Spickard resident.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Larry W. Guerber of Bethany was eastbound on Highway 6 while a vehicle driven by Charles Williams of Spickard was westbound. Guerber’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck the Williams vehicle in the driver’s side rear. Guerber’s vehicle continued off the roadway into a field, while the Williams vehicle went into a ditch, overturning onto its side. Guerber’s vehicle sustained extensive damage, while Williams’ vehicle was totaled.
Guerber, 42, was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center for what were described in the report as moderate injuries. Williams was not reported injured.
Guerber was ticketed for careless and imprudent driving, having no valid plates, no proof of insurance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The accident was investigated by Trooper T. Goolsby, with assistance from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
