Lawrence M. Price, 48, Lenexa, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $22.50 and $58.50 costs.
Vernon T.E. Whelchel, 18, Gallatin, admitted violating the terms of his probation on an original charge of peace disturbance. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to serve 30 days in the Grundy County Jail, with credit given for 18 days already served.
Lori A. Stephenson, 23, 407 E. 18th St., waived her preliminary hearing and had her case bound over to Division I on a charge of use of a child in a sexual performance. Trial-setting was scheduled for Dec. 13, with the defendant held without bond.
William E. Grimes, Jr., 1612 Cedar St., pleaded guilty to second degree trespassing and was fined $50.50 and $116.50 costs.
James E. Harding, 21, 403 W. 15th St., waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to Division I on a charge of second degree burglary. Trial-setting was scheduled for Jan. 17.
Amanda D. Tuttle, Trenton, admitted violating the terms of her probation on an original charge of stealing and had an additional six months added to her probation. The special conditions of her probation include continuing to meet with her probation supervisor and having a re-evaluation with Preferred Family and follow any directives.
Robert L. Winsor, Chillicothe, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to Division I on charges of passing bad checks. Trial-setting was scheduled for Dec. 13.
Ernesto Meraz, 37, 611 W. Crowder Rd., waived formal arraignment and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving with excessive blood alcohol content (the original charge was driving while intoxicated). He was sentenced to serve 90 days in the Grundy County Jail, with execution of the sentence suspended. He was placed on probation for two years, with the special conditions that he complete the Drive to Survive Program within 90 days, pay a $300 fine, $106.50 costs, $98 recoupment of funds and $10 to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund. He is also to serve five days shock incarceration at the Sullivan County Jail by Jan. 15. He also pleaded guilty to failing to drive on the right half of the roadway when the roadway was of sufficient width and was fined $77.50 and $58.50 costs.
Jackie S. Owens, 64, Laredo, pleaded guilty to not wearing a seat belt and was fined $10.
Florence A. Carman-Hinman, 56, St. Joseph, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $42.50 and $58.50 costs.
Gregory D. Olson, 44, Trenton, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $32.50 and $58.50 costs.
Daniel M. Betz, 26, 158 E. Fourth St., had a charge of not maintaining financial responsibility dismissed. He pleaded guilty to an amended charge of having no valid operator’s license (the original charge was driving while revoked) and was fined $250.50 and $106.50 costs and $10 to the CVCF.
Small Claims
William and Brigit Paugh vs. Bryon Pride. The court found in favor of the plaintiffs in the amount of $45. The case involved a rental dispute.
