Carol Danny Phillips, 54, was charged in a three-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The federal indictment alleges that Phillips used a minor, identified as Jane Doe, to produce child pornography on Sept. 3, 2003. The indictment also alleges that Phillips was in possession of child pornography on Sept. 13, 2007, and between Sept. 14 and 20, 2007.
Wood cautioned that the charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine Fincham. It was investigated by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
