Two non-injury accidents were investigated over the weekend, with an accident Saturday morning causing moderate damage to both vehicles.
Mishaps Checked By TPD
According to Officer Tim Phipps’ report, Macallasair Miller of 400 W. Seventh St. was the driver of a vehicle that attempted to back across Seventh Street into his driveway, which aligns with VanBuren Street. He failed to see a truck driven by Skyler Barron of 2607 Mable St., and the two vehicles collided. Barron said he did not see Miller’s vehicle in time to stop. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.
Miller, 67, was ticketed for improper backing.
Another accident was also investigated Saturday, this one near the intersection of Ninth and Washington streets, where a truck driven by Connie Critten of Jamesport was westbound on Ninth Street at the intersection. Tabitha Glenn of 421 W. 22nd St., was the driver of a car that was northbound on Washington Street at Ninth Street, waiting for traffic to clear from the Missouri Day Festival Parade. Another driver motioned for Ms. Glenn to cross the intersection, but Ms. Glenn did not see Mrs. Critten’s truck and the front of her car hit the left side of the truck. There was minor damage to the car and none to the truck. No tickets were issued due to heavy traffic congestion in the area.
