According to a report filed by Trenton Police Officer Jerry Smith, the accident occurred when a truck driven by Rafael M. Stokes, Jr. of 1512 Tindall Ave., was northbound on Tindall Avenue and crossed the center of the roadway, traveling into the oncoming lane and sideswiping a parked car owned by Gail Shipley of 1325 Tindall Ave. Stokes’ vehicle then continued northbound on Tindall Avenue, leaving the roadway again and traveling west across a yard, striking a terrace and stone column supporting the rear of a porch at 704 W. Crowder Rd. The truck then hit an overhead garage door and the right rear of a car owned by James McCarty of that address. The car was parked in the garage.
There was extensive damage to Stokes’ truck, with moderate damage to Ms. Shipley’s car and minor damage to McCarty’s car.
Stokes, 54, was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident.
