Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle Monday
According to Trenton Police Sgt. Kris Schmidt’s report, the accident occurred when Carrie Huston of Harris had exited her vehicle and was walking across the Amoco parking lot on East Ninth Street. A sport utility vehicle that was parked on the lot pulled forward and struck her on the right side, knocking her to the ground. It then made a sharp left turn, exiting the parking lot.
Ms. Huston said the vehicle was a light colored, possibly white, newer sport utility vehicle. She said it may have been a Kia. She indicated that there were several occupants in the vehicle and the stereo was playing loudly.
Ms. Huston went to Wright Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries to her right side.
Both drivers were ticketed following an accident Monday on Crowder Road.
According to Officer Seth Rorebeck’s report, the accident occurred when a car driven by Karen Pauley of 805 W. Crowder Rd., was backing from her driveway, while a truck driven by Randall H. Rummerfield of 418 W. 13th St., was backing from an adjacent driveway. Rummerfield had stopped his vehicle in the roadway to change gears from reverse to drive when his truck was impacted by Ms. Pauley’s car.
Ms. Pauley, 58, was ticketed for improper backing, while Rummerfield, 47, was ticketed for failing to maintain financial responsibility for a vehicle.
