According to Sgt. Kris Schmidt’s accident report, the mishap occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Jennifer R. Graves was traveling through the Citizens Bank and Trust parking lot on Main Street. She accelerated because she thought another vehicle was backing and turned right into a parking spot. She thought she was putting on her brake, but actually pressed on the accelerator. The vehicle struck the building, causing extensive damage to both the vehicle and the building.
Ms. Graves was taken by Grundy County Ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released. No tickets were issued due to the accident occurring on private property.
