Two Men Held In County Jail

Two persons were arrested over the weekend on unrelated charges, including a man who is being sent back to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, 35-year-old Wilbur E. Brock, Jr. of 706 E. Fifth St., was arrested by the Missouri Highway Patrol Friday evening for driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked. He was taken to the Trenton Police Department for processing and detoxification and on Saturday he was arrested for violating the terms of his parole from the Missouri Department of Corrections. He had been on parole from prison for an original conviction of stealing in St. Louis County. Brock will be sent back to the Department of Corrections and faces Grundy County charges of felony driving while revoked and was also issued a summons for driving while intoxicated. He will face those charges at a later time.
Also arrested was 47-year-old David Phillips of Independence, who was arrested by the Blue Springs Police Department on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on an original charge of passing bad checks. He is being held in the Grundy County Jail on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 14.
