Trenton’s top duo rolled through pool play with a 2-1 record with the lone loss coming on a tiebreaker to a Maryville squad by a score of 7-6 (9-7). Gott and Crowley defeated a Warrensburg team 6-2 and a Lafayette duo 6-3.
In the medal round, Gott and Crowley fell to a Platte County tandem 6-2 to end up with second-place medals.
Baley Catron and Emilee Lovell were 2-1 in pool play and played for third in doubles play, losing that match 6-4 to finish fourth. Morgan Dolan and Alaina Overton combined to go 1-2 in pool play and played for fifth in doubles play, winning 6-3 to finish in that spot.
In singles action, Trenton had Gwyneth Foster and Mallory Sole, both of whom were 1-3 on the day.
“It was a full day of tennis,” Trenton Coach Tammy Ockenfels said. “Everyone played four matches and all had at least one win.”
The host school Cameron was short-handed so Trenton’s Leslie Cotiangco and Amanda Parrack played as the Dragons’ number-three doubles team, going 2-2 on the day.
Trenton’s tennis team was back at home on Thursday, playing host to Kirksville. The Bulldogs’ next action will see them at home again on Monday, playing host to Maryville. First serves for the dual are set for 4 p.m.
