Connie J. Spellman, a 78-year-old resident of Trenton, moved to heaven on Thursday morning May 30, 2019 at the home of her son Phillip, in Olathe, KS.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the First Assembly Of God Church in Trenton. Burial will be in Stucker Cemetery, south of Trenton.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Spellman was born on Aug. 21, 1940 in Chase, KS, the daughter of Gene and Jacqueline Mortimer. Before retiring she was employed for 33 years as assistant librarian at North Central Missouri College in Trenton.
She was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church.
She was married on Aug. 29, 1958 in Russell, KS to Robert D. Spellman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1995.
Survivors include three sons Phillip Spellman of Olathe, Matt Spellman and his wife, Delores of Olathe and Mark Spellman and his wife, Kimberly of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; one-great-grandchild; and one sister, Carol Wagner and her husband, Lee and one brother, Jim Mortimer and his wife Sandy, all of Broken Arrow, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Garland Spellman in March of 2005.
Memorials are suggested to either the First Assembly of God Church or the Green Hills Animal Shelter. They may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
