Roberta Dianne “Bobbie” Patton, a 76-year-old resident of Independence and formerly of Trenton, died on Wednesday morning, Nov. 28, 2018 at Center Point Medical Center in Independence.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, with visitation taking place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday prior to the funeral service.
A graveside service will be at noon on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at the Hamilton Cemetery near Modena.
Mrs. Patton was born on Jan. 30, 1942 in Trenton, the daughter of Rex and Irene Brittian Hamilton. She spent her childhood in the Trenton area and attended schools in Trenton.
She was married on March 17, 1961 to Melvin Patton, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2015. The couple lived in Kansas City for a number of years before moving to Sebastian, FL. Following the death of her husband in 2015, she moved back to Missouri, making her home in Independence.
She worked at several jobs and most recently was a crew leader for Duncan Donuts in Sebastian, FL. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin Patton Jr. and Kimberly of Independence; three brothers, John Hamilton, Jimmy Hamilton and his wife, Sharon and Junior Hamilton and his wife, Denise; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Paul Baker on June 28, 2004; two brothers, David Hamilton and Jerry Hamilton; and her step-mother, Jean Hamilton.
Memorials are suggested in her memory to the Hamilton Cemetery at Modena.
