First grade students at the Rissler Elementary School will benefit from a $467.50 grant from the BTC Bank Area Youth Benefit Corp., which will help purchase a reading kit to be used in the classroom. Instructor Christy Gibler wrote the grant to pay for purchase of a Fountas and Pinnell Assessment kit, which helps identify students’ instructional and independent reading levels.
